How Does This Work?

Our Roofing Process in 6 Simple Steps

Assess the Project Details

You will communicate with the Roofing Contractor on the details of your roofing project, whether it is a repair or complete replacement.

Roof Plan Created

Roof Report is created using a diagram of the structure. Scope of work is determined between client and contractor.

Estimate of Project

An estimate for the project is submitted to the client for review. Once accepted, a permit filing is started for city approval.

Permit Approved

Once the permit is approved, the work can commence. Installers will begin with removal of any damaged roofing material or replacement.

Roofing or Repair Completed

Once the work is completed, inspections are scheduled with the respective city/county jurisdiction. Inspections are completed.

Permits and Work Closed

All permits and work are completed and final payments are arragned and collected. Contractors are available for other work.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How Long Does It Take to Get the Roofing Done?

The time frame for completing a roofing project varies between 30 to 90 days, depending on several factors, including the scope of work, the availability of materials, and the weather conditions. Smaller repairs or installations typically take a few days to complete. Larger projects, however, may require more time due to inspections, custom materials, and compliance with local regulations.

2. How Many Roofing Layers Will I Need?

Most roofs require only one layer of shingles or material. However, depending on the condition of your existing roof and local building codes, you may need to remove old layers entirely before installing new roofing materials. In some cases, additional underlayment or insulation may also be recommended.

3. Do You Handle Structural Repairs Alongside Roofing?

At Industry General Contractors, we specialize in roofing installations and repairs. We do not handle extensive structural repairs, as these require licensed professionals in that field. However, we do ensure that all necessary minor structural adjustments related to your roof are addressed as part of the project.

4. What Documentation Will I Need to Provide for Roofing Work?

We guide our clients through this process and ensure they have all the required materials. Below are the key documents you may need to provide:

  • Name & Address: Location of the property requiring roofing services.

  • Roof Inspection Reports: Showing the current condition of the roof.

  • Receipts/Invoices: Documentation of material choices and labor costs.

  • Warranty Information: Any warranties associated with prior roofing work (if applicable).

  • Permit Application: You can begin the permit application process for the roofing job below, seperately.

5. What Happens After I Submit the Paperwork?

Once we receive the necessary documents, we will provide you with a Permit Application. If any additional information is required, we will notify you. The application will need to be signed and dated in front of a Notary Public.
